Product Overview
Guanidine Sulfate is a strong chaotropic salt widely used in protein denaturation, RNA/DNA extraction and industrial applications.
In biotechnology and molecular biology, Guanidine Sulfate can unfold proteins for electrophoresis or for refolding studies. During RNA/DNA extraction, it is the component of chaotropic salt buffers which ensure the release of nucleic acids.
In pharmaceuticals, Guanidine Sulfate can be used as the intermediate for developing antiviral drugs and sulfonamide antibiotics.
In textile industry, it can fix dye on cotton and synthetic fibers. It is also a synergist in fire-resistant coatings and can be applied on surfaces to reduce flammability.
In agriculture, Guanidine Sulfate is used in formulations for crop protection.
