Product Overview
Guanidine Dihydrogen Phosphate (GDP) is a guanidinium-phosphate salt that has applications on flame retardant materials, crystal growth and biochemistry.
The mechanism of how GDP can reduce flammability is that it can decompose endothermically and release non-flammable gases (NH3 and H2O), forming a protective layer. It is widely used on cotton, polyester coatings, polyurethane foams and epoxy resins.
In biochemistry, it participates in protein crystallization by stabilize protein structures in X-ray crystallography buffers.
In agriculture, GDP is used in fertilizers due to its slow-release phosphorus and it is a nitrogen source.
