Dicyandiamide, also known as DCD, is an important chemical compound with various industrial applications.
Its major application is to be used as a latent curing agent for epoxy resins in composites, adhesives and coatings. Its unique property makes it excellent in providing thermal and chemical resistance and this makes it useful in industries such as automotive, aerospace and electronics.
In agriculture, DCD acts as a nitrogen stabilizer by reducing nitrogen leaching and therefore improving fertilizer efficiency.
Combined with phosphate, DCD enhances flame resistance in textiles and plastics.
